Celebrate the Red, White, and Blue by Supporting American Manufacturing

Independence Day is upon us and at Building Clean we are already dreaming of beach trips, barbecues, and the red, white, and blue. But celebrating America doesn’t have to start and stop on the 4th of July. By supporting U.S. manufacturers, you can support America every single day.

Buying American-made matters. It builds local economies, creates jobs, and supports communities. According to the Alliance for American Manufacturing, every $1 invested in U.S. manufacturing generates $1.81 in economic activity.

Energy efficiency is an important part of this conversation. Energy efficiency jobs dominate the nation’s clean energy sector. The energy efficiency sector is responsible for 2.3 million American jobs in manufacturing, construction, installation, and wholesale trade. Rising demand for residential energy efficient retrofits can bring new strength to U.S. manufacturers when their products are used to help lower energy usage.

It’s all up to those who pay for and procure the materials and products used in the retrofits. What they choose to buy can spur demand that leads to new jobs and new prosperity for families and communities across the country.

We know that finding American-made products is not always easy, which is why BuildingClean.org hosts a database of more than 4,500 U.S. manufacturing facilities. We can help you find U.S.-made appliances, insulation, lighting, plumbing, roofing, sealants, windows, doors, HVAC, and water filtration products so your next building project is Made in America!
